Leadership & Professional Experience
José M. Negrón Matías
President | Maintenance & Repair General Contractors Corp.
M&RGCSM is led by José M. Negrón Matías, a U.S. Army veteran whose professional career from 1993 through 2024 spans precision machining, welding, industrial equipment maintenance, mechanical plant supervision, and federal facility operations management.
Beginning his career in 1993 as a toolmaker and machinist, he developed a technical foundation in precision metalworking and welding, supported by technical school certificates in both disciplines. He subsequently served in the U.S. Army as a Metal Worker (MOS 44B).
His civilian federal career included progressively responsible positions with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA): Industrial Equipment Mechanic; Maintenance Leader; A/C and Plumbing Shop and Boiler Plant Supervisor; and Facility Operations Specialist.
He later served as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA, now DoWEA), concluding his federal employment in 2024.
In 2015, he established Maintenance & Repair General Contractors Corp. While continuing his federal career, he developed the business around mechanical and facility maintenance services. In 2024, he resigned from federal employment to concentrate on M&RGCSM's development and operations.
His background combines hands-on mechanical experience with the operational perspective of supervising maintenance activities and supporting federal facilities. This experience informs the company's emphasis on field assessment, maintainability, coordination, equipment reliability, and documented work.
Project Execution Approach
Review the stated scope, inspect field conditions, and identify access, scheduling, and operational constraints before execution.
Plan work with facility personnel, manage disruption in occupied environments, and address authorized technical requirements.
Verify operation, report observed deficiencies, document completed work, and distinguish additional work requiring authorization.
